Research in the Wildlife Biology and Taxonomy lab focuses on ecology, diversity and taxonomy of tetrapod vertebrates with special attention on volant and non volant small mammals, birds and herpetofauna. Focus is also on documentation of biodiversity in Eastern Ghats and Godavari River Basin and also that of Andhra Pradesh in general. Other than tetrapods studies on odonates, spiders and butterflies with reference to changing landscapes and urbanization is also being undertaken.

Current projects include works on molecular phylogeny of bats of peninsular India including Andaman & Nicobar Islands, ecological studies on evening and fruit bats, diversity and taxonomy of snakes of Telengana region, endemic hipposiderids, gekkotan diversity and crocodiles.
